52 performances in 8 different theatres, 3 seminars on Danish childrens' theatre, 4 workshops and 4.300 km by bus, rail and plane crossing China. This is (part of) the programme when 3 Danish childrens' theatre companies initiate a tour lasting two weeks from May 17th with visits to Beijing, Shanghai, Hefei and the old cultural capital Xi’an.
It is China who has taken the initiative to invite the theatre companies: The Danish National Ensemble Corona La Balance, Batida Theatre and Teater TT, who with respectively musical theatre and physical clown theatre will give a presentation of Danish childrens' theatre.
The title of the tour is ‘Real Tales from Denmark’ which links contemporary issues and subjects to the known and loved Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tales known by every Chinese child. Indeed, actor Jens Christian Holland’s character is HCA and together with the Chinese poet Jimbut, they will take on a host role in the presentation of the programme.
