As a part of the Danish Arts Council's collaboration project DaNY Arts, the Danish poets and spoken-word artists Claus Ankersen, Thorkil Jacobsen and Lasse Thorning will throughout March network and collaborate with the spoken-word scene in New York. They will among other perform with NYC-poet Jackie Scheeler at the legendary Pink Pony West showcase at Cornelia Street Café.

Since the turn of the millenium, Claus Ankersen has been heading the Danish spoken-word scene and founded the Danish Association of Stage Authors (Forbundet Danske Scenekunstforfattere) in order for the art of performance poetry to be acknowledged as an artistic expression in its own right. It is Andersen's hope that the collaboration with the established spoken-word scene in New York will strengthen spoken-word in Denmark.
